With Christmas just a few days away I wanted to create one more Christmas themed tutorial for you. Now as there is only 3 and a half days left as I write this I knew the cake needed to be quite simple, and not require loads of tools that you need to buy. So for this cake you will need, your cake, buttercream, some fondant, some melted chocolate and your modelling tools. So if you are still looking for a Christmas cake why not give this Rudolf the red nose reindeer themed cake a try…

Christmas Reindeer cake

I absolutely loved how this cake turned out, it is so Christmasy and I’m sure my family will be having a piece on Christmas eve. The cake itself is made of 5 – 1 inch layers of chocolate cake, filled with chocolate buttercream.

One of my favourite things about this cake are his antlers. They are so easy to make with melted chocolate or candy melts and I love the finished texture. You need to make sure you put a few layers of chocolate onto the antlers to give them structure once they are dry, but once they are placed into the cake, they really bring it to life. I have put below the link to the template that I made so you can print it out and create your own antlers.

Also don’t forget to check out the chocolate cake recipe here . For the cakes I used my chocolate cupcake recipe and split between 2 tins to give me 2 layers. I then multiplied the recipe until I had enough for 5 layers.
