With Easter only a few weeks away I really wanted to create another Easter inspired cake for this weeks video tutorial. So following my bunny rabbit cake,  I thought I would stick with a character theme, and create this cute Easter chick cake. Below I have created a step by step video showing the whole process, from covering the cake in buttercream, adding the icing / fondant with all the features and also covering the board to look like grass. This is a really fun cake and would be perfect for Easter, it can also be made in any size depending on how many people you need to feed.

For the actual cake I made a vanilla sponge cake which I baked in a sphere / ball tin. The tin measured 3.5 inches in diameter and is a great size if you are looking for a small cake. The cake itself sat on a 6 inch drum board covered to look like grass. The chick is sat on the grass with his feet out in front of him. I love how by adding his eyes, beak, feet and wings this cake really comes to life.

I really hope you enjoy this video tutorial and find it helpful if you are looking to create your own Easter themed cake.
