A few weeks ago I was asked to create a cake for one of the Macmillan coffee mornings that was taking place to raise money for the charity. This cake was to be auctioned off as part of a raffle. For the cake I decided to use the logo of the event and create a giant mug of coffee. The cake was 3 layers of vanilla sponge cake, with vanilla buttercream throughout. The handle of the mug and the spoon were made out of gumpaste. Everything else was edible.

I have to admit that one of my favourite parts of this cake were the Rich Tea buiscuits. These were made of icing / fondant and once I figured out how to put the lettering on they turned out quite well. I particularly like the broken buiscuit. The sugar cubes were squares of icing dipped in sugar. I really hope the person who won this cake enjoyed it.

There are more pictures of this cake in my cake gallery so check those out.
